I find Emily Croom s books to be helpful for beginners, but there s also great information for those that have been researching their families for years I always especially like the case studies This extends the information in Unpuzzling your past. Emily Croom s books are the ones I always recommend for beginners. Lots of good information, but outdated on the many records that are online now, not just on microfilm.
